Paper fold-up hand lantern with eco-friendly battery-powered lamp
"Lucky Pig" hand lanterns will be handed out to festival participants this year. This year's lantern is eco-friendly and designed to be safe for children. It is made of paper, requires simple assembly, and is illuminated by a battery-powered bulb. The lantern handle represents six coins falling into the back of the pig, in piggy bank style. Depicted in pink with a cute swaying nose, the pig amply embodies the wishes for success, contentment and good luck.
The Chiayi County Government will give out free hand lanterns on March 3 to 5 at the Lantern Festival venue. 5,000 lanterns will be given out on March 3 and 5 and 35,000 lanterns will be distributed on March 4.
